I thought I’d write a post following on from my reading goals, and focussing on the books that I have, or will be getting, on my bookshelf!
I’m currently reading ‘Stoner’, by John Edward Williams. I’ll let everyone know how it is, but for now I have extremely high hopes.
Well done to the Man Booker Awards of both 2018 and 2019, we have females and people of colour winning! The winner of 2018 was the novel ‘Milkman’, by Anna Burns, something I’ve been planning to read since it was announced. The winners this year were also female, and there were 2, one including a black woman! The books, ‘The Testament’, by Margaret Atwood, sure to be amazing, and ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ by Bernardine Evaristo, are both on my Christmas list. Also on the longlist was ‘My sister the serial killer’ by Oyinkan Braithwaite.
These are the classics that I never got round to, and really want to read! Studying English, there is a very consistent mention of books like Ulysses, so I feel as though it’s about time I pulled my socks up.
Here is a long list of other books I want to read.
